Ken Sabad Receives Quilt of Valour

Ken Sabad joined the Canadian Army in 1955 as an infantryman with the Queen's Own Rifles. He soon found his calling in sports and became a PTI (Physical Training Instructor), later better known as a PERI (Physical Education and Recreation Instructor). Ken participated and excelled in almost every sport offered including hockey, fastball, curling, judo, boxing and multi gymnastics. He served across Canada during his career, Calgary AB, Kingston ON, Goose Bay NL, Yorkton SK, Chilliwack BC as well as Germany with NATO and a UN tour to the Middle East in 1974. Ken retired at the rank of Sgt after over 25 years of service.

Ken recently received a Quilt of Valour after a nomination from his son, Mark Sabad.
