Perley Health Celebrates Volunteers!

It was night of joy, good food, fun prizes, and certainly lots of gratitude and appreciation shared at the Annual Perley Health Volunteer Awards Ceremony as we honoured our amazing volunteers!

To cap off National Volunteer Week, we gathered in the cafeteria for dinner and awards (the first big, public ceremony since the pandemic!). We celebrated the exceptional contributions of our volunteers, giving special recognition to those who've been with us for 5, 10, and 15 years. A huge congratulations to Gail Lalonde and Katherine Stewart for their 15-year commitment!

We also handed out some big awards in three categories:

Advocacy Award

Patrick Griffith. Hats off to Patrick for his inspiring commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life!

Team Award

The Wood Shop Volunteer Team. A round of applause for the Wood Shop Volunteers, who show amazing dedication and skill in their woodworking programs!

Volunteer of the Year Award

Jody Thomson. Jody's compassion and initiative in supporting residents and staff leave us in awe!

A special highlight was Deborah's Gift Boutique's generous $30,000 donation to the Perley Health Foundation, which helps us provide transformative care for Seniors and Veterans. Since 1996, they've donated over $640,000! This year, they directed their gift to the purchase of one Magic Table, a Sleeper Chair, and two palliative care carts. Thank you!
