Foot-Care Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

1 Full-Time 

$34.27 – $35.97

Registered Practical Nurses must demonstrate the core competencies of nursing practice, working to the full scope of practice in the provision of resident care. The RPN's work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and foster a team approach in the delivery of care to meet our Long-Term Care resident needs.

The RPN's play a part in leadership roles on an interdisciplinary team that delivers long term care resident care. This includes the completion of comprehensive bedside assessments and analysis of resident health records, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to promote restorative nursing outcomes and achieve identified care goals.

Minimum Requirements:

The ability to meet the normal requirements of the job, including but not restricted to:

  • Must possess current RPN Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario with no restrictions
  • Certification in Advanced Foot Care required
  • Experience in geriatric and diabetic foot care
  • Previous community experience will be considered an asset
  • GPA certification required
  • Ability to create a client schedule
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care
  • Current working experience in long-term care nursing preferred;
  • Understanding of and obvious commitment to resident and family centered care
  • English proficiency in interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • A caring and empathetic attitude is crucial;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
  • Proficiency with WORD, email, internet use and computerized documentation.
  • Current and maintenance of annual Adult CPR certification
  • Member of WeRPN
  • Member of the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses (CAFCN)

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: As per CUPE Collective Agreement Local 870 - $34.27 - $35.97
