Dave Lowdon, Board Member
Dave Lowdon left the RCAF in 1994 shortly after the conclusion of his assignment as Commander of 10 Tactical Air Group, Canada's tactical aviation force. As a helicopter pilot, he had previously commanded 447 (Transport) Helicopter Squadron, 89 Rotary Wing Aviation Unit and 11 Wing. During his career he was also attached to the US Army Aviation Center for three years and served on three separate United Nations peace-keeping missions in Egypt, Lebanon and Central America. He is an Officer of the Order of Military Merit.
After leaving the Air Force, Dave joined the United Nations Secretariat in New York as Chief of Transportation for all United Nations peace-keeping missions. He then attained his law degree, was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001 and thereafter practised corporate law with Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP in Ottawa until his final retirement in 2018.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Royal Military College of Canada, a Masters degree in International Studies from Troy State University and an LL. B. (Common Law) from the University of Ottawa.
Dave joined the Perley Health Board in 2022. He was previously a director of the Canadian Battlefields Foundation and is currently also a director of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires (Ottawa Division). Dave is very pleased to join the Perley Health Board and looks forward to helping in its important mission. He is currently a member of the Governance Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee and the Veteran's Liaison Committee.
