A Remarkable Act Of Compassion And Creativity

Victoria, a creative and impressive 11-year-old, threw her family for a loop this year when she decided that her birthday celebration would look a little different. Instead of presents, Victoria chose to raise funds for Perley Health; a decision that turned into a $500 gift for Seniors and Veterans.

Victoria was driven by her love for art, and her connection to her “Grampie”, Harold Miller, an RCAF Veteran and Perley Health resident since 2023. Harold is an avid woodworker, crafting aircraft models that fill the hearts of his grandchildren with wonder. He enjoys spending time in the Perley's woodworking studio, where he can continue building on his passion with support from the Ozerdinc Grimes Family Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts program.

Victoria's generosity directly supports a passion that she and her Grampie share, as her gift was presented to the Veteran's Creative Arts Program. Her selfless act has not only brightened the lives of those at Perley but has inspired many.

Victoria's gesture is an excellent reminder of the profound impact that supporters of the Perley Health Foundation have. The unwavering dedication as participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers fuel the positive change we strive for, bringing joy and comfort to the lives of Seniors and Veterans at Perley Health.
